ADWUMAM: RESIDENTS DEMONSTRATE OVER POOR ROAD
The residents in the community says since the town came into existence the people have not witnessed a coated road before.
According to them in an interview with Silver FM, they said political figures always induce them with sugar-coated words to win their votes but abandon them after the election.
They said, the members in the community are die hard supporters for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) but has seen no development in the area especially constructing and coating of their deplorable road networks.
They were worried and furious that, authorities do not prioritise their concerns as they always play pranks to their grievances.
They disclosed that the situation has retarded the development of the community as it drives investors away adding that it also creates unfortunate news such as cutting short the lives of some pregnant women due to the road’s poor nature and it’s an inconvenience for transporting conceived women.

Adwumam is a farming community in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti Region. During the 2020 general election, Kwabre East District emerged the highest area that gave the NPP highest percentage as far as numbers/figures are concerned.
But the people are lamenting rejection on the part of the party to adhere to their grievances and help solve them.
They’ve therefore vowed to spill out the beans if the powers that be fail to address their concerns this time.
Follow up:
When the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) was contacted, he shared the prite of the people saying they indeed ought to voice out.
Hon. Osei Assibey, the MCE added that he can’t dispute the fact that most of the roads linking localities in the district are un-motorable specifically the road network to Adwumam but appealed to the locals to calm down nerves as measures are in place to address the problem.
“Is true the roads in the area are not in a good state. My people deserve to complain but I’m assuring them that it will get solved soon by the government”, Hon. Osei Assibey consoled the people.
