COURT DEALS WITH DRIVER TRANSPORTING WEE IN AMBULANCE
A 25-year-old driver named Sampson Azago has been sent to the Ho Circuit Court to be dealt with for transporting cannabis in an ambulance. He was arrested in 2017.
He was arrested with Derrick Eto who is also 24 years old on 29 July 2017 for brilliantly packaging parcels of cannabis from Vakpo to Aflao in an ambulance.
They were granted bail by the court, presided over by Priscilla Dikro Ofori.
In an interview with the Prosecutor, Sergeant Godfred Bosompem, told the court that on 29 July 2017, the Vakpo Police Command officers had a tip-off around 8:00 am that a Ford ambulance driven by Azago from Kpando has cannabis on board.
He said the police searched the vehicle and found 627 parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp(wee).
He also said the accused persons mentioned one Efo Yao, who lives at Aflao as the owner of the consignment in their caution statements.
The prosecutor said the accused persons were granted bail by the court but they all jumped bail subsequently.
He said Azago was later arrested with a bench warrant.
