“We won’t legalise Okada Business”- Bawumia

The Vice President of the Republic Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has now clarified that the ruling government won’t legalize Okada operations. The New Patriotic Party (NPP) was in a panic mode moments after their main political rivals, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) promised to legalize Okada business as captured in their manifesto.

As a result, it came to light that the NPP was doing everything possible to legalize the operations of the motorcyclists to obviously score cheap political points.

However, Bawumia insists the movie is a risky one considering the nature of their work hence there will be no legalization whatsoever. He assured the riders of a better alternative of empowering them to purchase brand new cars assembled in the country so they engage in a safer business.

Dr. Bawumia said this on Thursday in Accra which saw VW and BlackIvy signed an MoU to embark on the production of affordable homes and affordable cars for the Ghanaian people.
